It is radiant energy that is all around us and takes many forms whether it be visible, such as, visible light, or invisible electromagnetic radiations, such as radio waves, infrared light, sunlight, and x-rays. Electromagnetic radiation covers a large spectrum of wavelengths, these waves of radiant energy have different usage according to their energy, in example; the rays from the sun, sunlight is vital to life on earth, radio waves allow us to communicate, microwaves allow us to cook our foods, infrared radiation provides us with warmth/heat, visible light illuminate and is also used essentially for growth of our trees, flowers, and the many foods we grow on earth, ultraviolet rays, which also comes from the sun, provide us with Vitamin D which is vital for our bones, and x-rays are used for medical diagnostic such as diagnosing a fractured or broken bone or pathology, it is also used in airports to check our luggage and help us be safe onboard to our paradise destinations. Gamma rays are used in the medical field to sterilize surgical equipments, it is also used to sterilize baby nipples, and cosmetic products, just to name a few; And for the past 60 years or so, the combination of Rad iation, Cobalt-60, Cesium-137, and Gamma Rays have been used for Irradiating food.
